Call for Workshops
Réseau Asie-Asia Network’s 3rd congress 2007
Provisional Date : September 26th,27th, 28th, 2007
Place: Paris, France
Objective: The purpose of this congress is to make original work on Asia known to the scientific community and to a more general public interested in Asia, in order to promote transdisciplinary and transcultural workshops.
Language: The congress will be held in French, but the workshop presentations and the summary of all the presentations will all be published online in both French and English. If an Asian language version is available, it will also be put online.
Public : Like the two first ones, the 3rd Congress is open to French-speaking PhD students, educators, scholars, researchers and experts on Asia and the Pacific Rim.
Provisional Calendar:
PROPOSALS MUST BE SENT IN BEFORE DECEMBER 6th, 2006
- Before December 6th, 2006, workshop proposals or proposals for participation in a workshop should be sent in Word or RTF format, and addressed to the Reseau Asie’s secretariat.
As workshop sessions will last 2 hours, it is suggested that the number of participants be limited to four people.
- Your proposal should specify whether you are proposing a previously constituted working group or whether you are an individual seeking to constitute a workshop. It must also include:
a) the workshop’s title, summary and a list of maximum ten key words (about ½ page)
b) a list of speakers, and for each person, their academic title, administrative or professional affiliation, email address, the title and summary of their specific presentation (1/3 page). It should be submitted in French. If the proposal is accepted, an English version will also be requested.
- Titling the file you send by email:
In order to expedite the classifying of your proposals, we ask that you title your files in small print, without accents, and in this format: last name_first initial_daymonthyear (for example, 151006 for October 15th, 2006).
SCIENTIFIC COMMITTEE SESSIONS
- The proposals will be submitted to a double evaluation: Before a decision is ma de, each member of the Scientific Committee will ask for a second opinion from an outside evaluator.
- Taking into account the Réseau Asie’s objectives, the Scientific Committee will privilege the constitution of workshops bringing together the different cultural areas and disciplines.
Although for organizational reasons, priority will be given to proposals for complete workshops, proposals for individual presentations are also welcome, and will be examined by the Scientific Committee for the creation of new workshops.
- As the registration process gets under way, the workshop proposals and participation proposals will be published online on the Réseau Asie’s website and can be consulted exclusively by its members through the MEMBER ACCESS link>>>CONGRESS>>>Proposals for the 3rd Congress.
SCIENTIFIC PROGRAM and PAPERS
The definitive workshop list and their summaries, grouped by theme, will make up the scientific program of the 3rd Congress.
Papers are limited to 25 000 characters.
PUBLICATION
Immediately after the congress, the participants must submit their edited papers so that they can be published online.
The Scientific Committee will decide which type of publication is best-suited to the proceedings of the 3rd congress.
CALENDAR SUMMARY
- 06/12/2006 : Last day the Réseau Asie’s secretariat will accept workshop poroposals.
- From December 2006 to March 2007: Meetings of the Scientific Committee to select proposals and determine themes.
- 15/03/2007: Date at which the list of chosen workshops will be sent out to participants.
- 01/04/2007: Last day for workshop convenors to confirm their participation.
- 15/04/2007: Circulation of the 3rd congress’ scientific program for the public.
- 15/07/2007: Last day the Réseau Asie’s secretariat will accept the presentation summaries in French and in English, grouped by workshop.
- 20/09/2007: Last day the Réseau Asie’s secretariat will accept papers.
- 26-27-28/2007: 3rd Congress
