Invitation to the Réseau Asie-IMASIE’s
3rd congress
September 26-27-28th, 2007
Dear Madam, Dear Sir,
You are invited to attend the various sessions of the 2nd Congress of the Réseau Asie - IMASIE / Asia Network which will take place in Paris .

Registration:
Participants are requested to fill the online REGISTRATION FORM which will be available from August 1st 2007
We would like to draw your attention to the following points:
- Badge:
Upon arrival at the reception, you will be given a badge with your surname, first name and institutional affiliation, if you have one. We request you to wear this badge for all the three days, from Wednesday to Friday.
- Rights for Video coverage:
Video coverage of the Congress will be done with the intention of editing different forms of recording (especially Website, DVD etc).
NB: Unless otherwise indicated in writing, all participants registered for the Congress will be considered as having consented to the non-commercial use of their picture/speech.
- Breaks will be of 30 min. between two workshops– except the break after the inaugural session and the last workshop session (1 hour).
- No lunch planned at the site of the congress (a list of restaurants will be available at the reception)

Programme
The plenary sessions and the workshops sessions are open to all participants. Language is French.
I- Workshop sessions
On Wednesday 26th & Thursday 27th : there are 44 workshops (2 hours or 2 ½ hours each, ) dealing with 7 themes.
The 7 Themes:
Economy, Environment : Workshops A-1…A-7
Urban Mutations and Architecture : Workshops A-8…A-13
Violence, Tensions and Conflicts : Workshops A-14…A-19
History and Identity Processes : Workshops A-20…A-26 and I-01
Education, Health : Workshops A-27…A-30
Ritual Studies – Spaces and Time Structures : Workshops A-31…A-38
Art and Literature : Workshops A-39…A-44 and I-02
II - Plenary sessions
The different plenary sessions (speakers to be confirmed):
- Opening session: Wednesday 26th from 9 a.m. to 12 noon,
- Closing session: Friday 28th from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Review of the workshops
Apart from the 30-minute breaks between two workshops (soft-drinks served), two other breaks are planned:
- a drink from 6.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. on Thursday 27th, after the last workshops session
- a lunch with some Asian delicacies at the FMSH cafeteria from 1.30 p.m. to 3.30 p.m. on Friday 28th.

Advance registration required
There is no fee but advance registration is required. To register, please, use the online registration form on the website, available from August 1st .
A bookstand to be visited
A large number of latest releases in Social Sciences and Humanities about Asia in French (and English) and books written by the speakers will be presented by the Librairie de l'Asie culturelle et religieuse
