<title>The purpose of the EUROPEAN SOCIETY FOR STUDIES OF CENTRAL ASIA AND HIMALAYAN REGIONS (SEECHAC)</title>
<description>The purpose of the EUROPEAN SOCIETY FOR STUDIES OF CENTRAL ASIA AND HIMALAYAN REGIONS (SEECHAC) is to increase awareness and better understanding of the arts and religions of these regions.  The Society endeavours to bring out and highlight the links between images, texts and religious practices. Particuliar attention is given to the spread of bouddhism in Central Asia.  Open to ail different disciplines, the Society proposes in-depth approaches to its most varied cultural aspects principally in the form of symposiums and conferences.  Joining the SEECHAC offers its members contacts with the most eminent specialists in these fields as weil as participation in the diffusion of the most specialised and well-informed knowledge available.  ln addition to the free admission to the conferences and special ticket priees for the symposiums organised by the Society, annual membership also includes a substancial reduction for the Cahiers de la SEECHAC. Created in Paris, the SEECHAC has an international vocation and the founding members wish that numerous european colleagues join in and participate.</description>
